Rear bumper lights in 2004??

Hey guys,

I have a 2004, and it has the red marker lights in the rear bumper...

What I'm wondering is, when do they come on? with the parking lights? taillights? are they just reflectors?? I can't get them to come on at all....

any help??

They are just reflectors. A few members have modded the lens and added lights inside to make them light up with parking and/or brake lights.

They work as foglights in the overseas models.

My idiot state headlight inspector failed me because he said they were "parking lamps"...Thanks for clearing that up.

I have a 2004, and I did the mod to make the reflectors into tail/brake lights. They are only on when the headlights are on.

I bought new reflectors that accept bulbs, along with bulbs and wiring harnesses, on Amazon. The OEM reflectors don’t accept bulbs without modifications, and I wanted a plug-and-play solution. I also had to destroy the OEM reflectors to get them out. I forget if the bolts were frozen or stripped.

I think everything cost me about $75. It was much easier to do the mod with the rear bumper cover off the vehicle.
