Rear bumper options - recommendations?

I do like that 2nd gen rear, but I wish it had one or two more vertical bars on the sides to hide the vents a bit more. I think the savage is the way I'll go, eventually (aka when SWMBO lets me) :argue:

I've got a shit load of heavy diamond grating when ever I get ahold of a welder i think thats what's going to go where your desired vertical bars go

If I didn't want the swing away option, I would def go for the Savage. But since I wanted the Swing Away Tire carrier, I deceided on the CBI Hybrid.

That looks great. It's killing me though as my rear hybrid is at the powder coater Nathan said. Still hopeful,it ships this week and then the wait begins for my front bumper.

Yeah, I think I like the "all-bars" look, but I think the addicted looks cool with the steel plate welded into the sides, too.

If SWMBO let me put the savage on the current 4R I think I might try to paint the lower contour of the lift gage black to make it blend better...? Wonder who else has the savage on t4r? Like to see more pics.

Edit: actually I think it looks pretty BA as it is, based on this pic and a few others (keep in mind I'm Metallic Silver)

Aahhh yes... the old "It's at the powder coater" trick ;) Mine took about a week longer than promised but Nathan let me know ahead of time. So good communciation is key and keeps the customer happy. It's worth the wait and CBI IMHO is an excellent company to deal with and a quality product.

Finally you post a picture of your 4runner. Damn it's changed since we went wheeling that one time. That spare 5 star sure looks familiar though...haha

Yeah I've been meaning to do a build thread now that i'm basically done. I just was really busy during my build and didn't have time to do it as I went. I did however take pics and uploaded them all last week to flickr.

So... build thread on it's way :)

p.s. hmmm wonder why you recognize that 5-star?

Nice, we really need to get back out on the trails again. A group of the Tacoma guys are wheeling Aug 23-25 at Deer Valley. You should come.

I sold you a spare 5 star, so that's why I said it.

^ I know I was being sarcastic :)

I think I'm going to head up on the Gold Lake/Snake Lake Bday bash thing next weekend Aug 9-11. Later in the month is prob not good for me.

i like the perkins rear that is on the list. but over 1k to have one made and shipped to florida? i guess i won't be getting one. :crybaby:

You can get our 3rd gen we recently released with or without the tire carrier. Here is a picture of a limited model from a customer of ours without the tire carrier.

Pricing depends on options, but your looking at $718-$893 for a bumper only and we can ship to anywhere in the lower 48 for $169-$199.

TxBx,

Any side view pics of the 3rd gen 4R with your rear bumper? In particular the black one on your website which has the same flares I have on mine! Want to see how the bumper finishes off the with flares.

Thanks!

Savage Offroad!

Highly recommend the Savage Offroad rear bumper as well! I've had it on my rig for a little over a month now and I couldn't be happier. Fits the lines of the truck perfect and Roy was great to work with. For the price, you can't get a better bumper. I'm honestly surprised we don't see more of them around here...

Fireball,

This is the closest thing I have to a full on side shot. The bumper falls just shy of the edge of the wheel well opening to provide room for larger tires.

Here is one of our customers running his on 35's
