ok im gonna throw some sticks on the ol fire here...
to the OP you come in asking a question that has been asked and gone over several times by numerous newbs. now while its not the dreaded "how big of a tire can i fit without a lift", or the "how high can i lift my truck" questions its not a obscure question that isnt basic or elementary -strike one. then ask the question about reinforcing it and what is structural etc. -strikes 2 and 3.... i hope you get the point.
now these are not strikes against you as a member or person so dont take them personal(or do idc), but it is then suggested that if you are asking these questions that it may be best for you to not attempt this and just buy a kit or premade bumper. again this was not saying you dont know how to weld or you are dumb or you should stick to the tricycle... no it was saying that maybe fabricating a bumper is just a little out of your league at this point.
if you could have answered say questions 1, 2, and 3 without asking us we might be more encouraging towards you to tackle this venture. but as it stands now we are just simply trying to save you some time, frustration and probably money and advise you to go find one already made. you are the one who started taking the comments personally and as an attack on you as an individual or attack on your skill level.
some of us know what we are talking about, we have been around the block a few times, built stuff, broke stuff, bought stuff, broke more stuff, fixed stuff etc etc etc... but one thing we all have in common is we all had to start and learn someplace. and those of us who didnt take the advice we were handed to heart or misconstrued it as demeaning or insulting probably didnt do as well starting out. Ripcord actually probably did you the biggest service and advised you to do some more research... you can give a man a fish and feed him for a day, or teach him to fish and feed him for life.
