Rear defrost not working right on my 2018

A few weeks back we got a light frost and another today. Windows had a bit of ice on them. Not uncommon here in north Florida as we'll get a few freezes each year. Anyway, started the engine to let the defrost start working before heading out and noticed that the defrost in the top part of the rear window seemed to be working (top 1/8th), but nothing seemed to be happening on the rest of it.. Once the engine got warmed up and I'd been moving for a bit the window cleared up but I was curious if anyone else has this problem. I do open and close the rear liftgate quite a bit, but don't really use the rear window that much maybe the opening and closing knocked something loose.

the top will defrost first then slowly drops down.. if it was dead then not gonna work .the lower the temps and the more ice it takes longer ..

your area not like were I live ... ice storm inches of ice takes a good amount of time..

so you're saying it works from the top down? Interesting..that would explain it.

no thank you...saw on the news they were telling people up in your neck of the woods not to leave the house if they didn't have to. Down here when it hits 30 you'd think it was the start of the ice age. can't imagine what temps like that would feel like.

I'd guess it probably works, but given the age of your truck, I would test it out while it's still cold by refreezing the back window, turn it on (with heater off), and wait to see what it does. Would suck to need that and not have it working, and probably suck just as much to have it replaced at cost when you can know now if it works and get it replaced under warranty.

I live near Seattle. Today's the first day of no Jacket required weather. Can't imagine -60Deg F weather.

So the defrost appears to be working..had a chance to test last week when we had a bit of frost..
