Rear Defroster

I was driving in the rain today and I had the rear and front defrosters on. I looked through my mirror and saw that the windows that look into the trunk were still totally fogged. They have the lines on it like the back window. My back window and the mirrors cleared off totally. Both of those windows did not clear up and I thought that hey should have. I just want to know if I have to tell the dealer about this next week when I bring it in for the moonroof?

My understanding was that they both were for the radio. There are two antenna feeds to the radio, and it selects the one with the best signal to use. But I will check my manuals when I get a chance to make sure.

Yeah, what is that smaller antenna wire for? As it goes into the HU that is.

No place to connect it to aftermarket head units. Seems to work fine without it, but I am curious.

After checking the manual, it looks like the feed from the antennas in each rear quarter window feed to an antenna amplifier in the right side rear pillar in front of the quarter window. Then the harness travels up the right side roof line to the front pillar and down to behind the dash. It looks to end up in three different connectors. From what I can see of the electrical prints, I am guessing that each connector is for one of the three different radio options. It looks like radio option uses a different connector.

Correction; After further investigation, one of the three connectors is the 12vdc power connector for the antenna amplifier, the other two are are antenna leads for the radios.
