Rear end vent tube

I changed my rear diff fluid yesterday and when removing the fill plug i had pressure inside the rear end housing cause i could hear the hissing noise while i was removing the plug. Do i need to replace the vent tube or is this normal? 2006 2wd 4runner

Not normal, pull the hose w/cap and blow in it. It should be one dirrectional.
Air out, not in.

yes it was first since i didnt want to get stuck if i pulled the drain plug and then couldnt get the fill plug off
