Hope everyone is okay involved with this? How are you and the f150 driver feeling? Pictures of the damage to his truck?

Damn - sorry to hear that, glad to see you are ok and here posting.

I got rear-ended and rolled in my 3rd gen a year ago, that's how I ended up with you 4th gen folks.

Hope everything works out o.k.

Same here, couple weeks ago lady in a Tundra with big front bull bar hit me hard while I was stopped at a light in a school zone. Fortunately I was stopped far enough back from the guy in front to not get pushed into him. Talk about pushing the brake pedal through the floor.

I was able to fix the rear hatch by pressing out the dents. Still a couple of bumper dings. The trailer hitch helped a lot but what a strong shock it transmitted. I've since added a hitch extension and one of those cast iron rear steps to it.

Told the lady to forget it, no insurance claim given the minor damage to my 10 year old 4 runner.

Glad your okay, but that sucks man! PM me if your interested in selling your driver side rear bumper cover extension :pray2:

Guy behind me in F150 not paying any attention at all smashes into the back of me. I didn't even see him coming as I was watching the car in front of me turn and was braking for him while the guy behind does not brake at all! 4Runner did not have any scratches at all until this idiot.

Accidents stinks

Sorry to hear about the accident. Hope all is well. With everyone on their phones while driving, I got myself the "spare bumper" that goes into the hitch. It's suppose to absorb some shock / impact.

Sorry to hear man. Thats how I lost my 2002 4WD Limited decked out with JAOS bumpers - and the kid who rear ended me (while I was completely stopped) slammed me into the next 2 cars. The outcome - every time I hit the brakes I'm looking in the rear view mirror as much as I'm looking in front of me. Hope theres no residual pain - make sure and see a chiro no matter how you think you feel.

Provided the rear section of the frame checks out, I forsee...

-Rear hatch
-Tail Lamp
-Rear Bumper Cover
-Minor Body Work Around the Rear Taillamp
-Paint (Obviously)
-Minor bits and pieces.

All in all it looks mostly cosmetic aside from the rear hatch and minor crinkling at the edge of the body where the taillamp is.

Sorry to see you 4Runner be damaged, I hate stupid people... It always sucks when someone else damages your vehicle, because it's your treasure. :(

At the very least the damage don't look too bad so that's good.

Thanks for the well wishes! My back is sore from shoveling snow-not the accident and am going to see the chiro today anyways! I dont have a picture of the F150 but he tried to avoid me and hit his front left side. His damage is just as bad as mine. His front right side ended up in a snowbank as he tried to avoid hitting me. He was probably on his cell phone but I cant say that because I wasnt looking back. There was no excuse for hitting me. He had been following me for a long time, even getting off the same highway exit. He did call it in to his insurance because when I git home and called, the insurance company already had a claim number and set me up with a rental. I dropped my Runner off at the local body shop where I know them from my el camino and past repairs to my CRV. I am hoping my body shop guy can get the rear quarter panel replaced as well since there is a small krinkle there. The body shop guy says that most likely, the tail gate hatch will be replaced by a used one, which he says is better than a new aftermarket one for quality and fitment. He did say the rear mount underneath may have been hit a bit but will have to see once up on the lift. The metal bumber can be repaired (not the coverings). He is going to have to remove the key switch and replace into the new hatch. The hatch was developing a little rust bubble above the window on the left side (typical spot) so a replacement hatch may be a good thing as it will be all repainted and look new again. Still sucks though- the insurance appraiser cant even get to the body shop until next week. At least they are setting me up today with a rental SUV from Enterprise.
