Rear Fogs -Opinions And Sugestions

so im gonna be wiring in some more lights(shocker i know), only these will be brake lights as well as rear fogs. so here are my questions. first off im looking for a one way power flow thingy(yes thats a technical term) i want to have these as brake lights but also want them to be on a switch so that when i turn on my fogs they come on and stay on(so i will have a rear fog light). also i will probably be wiring them into my hazards for SAR and code3 use. so i need some one way power flow thingys so that when i turn on my fog lights the 4runner brake lights dont come on and when i turn on the hazards/ strobes my fog lights and brake lights dont start flashing as well ect. any body have any ideas?

Option A for sure. B bothers me for some reason. I think its due to my OCD and landscape versus portrait orientation.

You mean Diodes? Basic relays and diodes can do wonderful things. I made a wig-wag/alternator for my van years back. With one switch, it: Wig-waged the left and right high beams while leaving the lows on. Alternated the left and right front turn signals opposite of the high beam flash. Then in the back, it alternated the left brake and right back up lights with the right brake and left back up lights. All it took was a handful of relays, diodes, a switch and a timer.
I was lucky I never got caught with them on !

A, no doubt about it. Two relays, four diodes, and a switch should do it. Since wiring can drive me nuts, I sometimes hand-draw out my schematic beforehand.

Have you already done the front fog mod?

Option A for sure. It looks like those lights were designed to spread light horizontally. If mounted in B; it would spread vertically.

i guess ill be going horizontal. damnit now i have to pull the rack to drill and tap the rack so i can mount those lights SOAB!

ha, yeah it seams like it some times with the five lights across the front of that thing. but actually the rack is not that big, its a lot smaller than the last one we built. i think it only looks big because of the angle the picture was taken

i might have to talk to you more on how you did this as i have been wanting to do this for some time. i have some strobes that i was thinking about putting into my turn signals but i wanted to get a wig-wag for the head lights, as i dont want to drill into the housings to stobe them, but want them to "flash too". im not worried about being caught with them on as my trucks are already code3 certified with DOT. -i just have to fund the set up. do you have a drawing or layout and or remember exactly what you used?

I actually like B a lot better. Looks a lot cleaner to me. As far as the light spreading, they're not for lighting up anything, just for people to see, right? If so, then the direction wouldn't make a difference.

I also think B for another reason, but I'm gonna PM you about it... :surfer:

Option B looks more aesthetically pleasing to me, but I'd probably go with option A but mount them near the outer edge directly under your rear flood lights. They just don't look right where you have them horizontally mounted.
