Rear Glass Scratches

Before my accident, as you can see with the pictures, did anyone have issues with scratches all over the rear glass. As I was getting work done at the dealership, I told them the isssue. I tried to tell them that it was the Rear Window Power Option along with the wiper and that I clean the gaps everytime I wash the car. It seemed to me that the maintence manager wanted nothing to do with it, he tried telling me that someone is keying my glass to explain the horizontal scratches, but then I tried to tell him it was the wiper since it had a nice curve to the scratch. I have seen numerous 4th gen T4Rs with scratches all over the rear glass. Have any members have this same issue?? Is there a preventive messure for this or is the glass that cheap. Once insurance resolves my 05 t4r, I shall be getting an 06 T4R SE in shadow mica. Love this SUV, but its the small stuff that sometimes tarnish my love for it.

I had the same problem about a year ago. I went straight to the dealer and demanded they fix the problem. The manager tried giving me some BS excuse but I convinced him it was in his best interest to replace the rear window. He replaced it under warranty. Needless to say, I still have the same problem. I've just about given up on the whole issue.

The only way to really prevent it is to never use the rear wiper and never roll the back window down. But that kind of defeats the whole purpose of that back window, because it's what makes the 4Runner unique from other SUV's out there.

I have this on my 07. The two scratches are vertical so I'm assuming something inside the gate?? Any suggestions?
