Rear Hatch Lift Support

I have a victory 4x4 ladder on my rear hatch. Previously to installing it I had the strongarm brand lift struts on my hatch but it still sags in cooler weather. I went and bought the Lift Support brand reccomended by Victory 4x4 and Im not sure if its better, maybe slightly worse. I was wondering if there was another brand thats more powerful or if there was a workaround for this. I currently have nothing mounted to my ladder.

You might want to give Sachs or Stabilus a shot; they've been solid performers for me. And, make sure the installation is on point; sometimes even a tiny misalignment can mess with the performance.

Same Question ?

This is a good question. I am considering moving from Southern Utah (summer +117F) to Montana (winter -30F). On previous trips the hatch would not stay up and was a PIA when opened. Had to use hiking poles to keep it open.

Would also like a recommed strut replacement from members who live in the northern mountain cold weather states who have this issue.
Thanks
Tom

I'm in MT...the OEM struts have been working great, though I'm not rocking a ladder...the above referenced "Stabilus" is a solid performing, strong-armed strut...not sure which one you need but I use them on my old school German car hoods...
