Rear Hatch

I am going to the Drive In tomorrow. If I prop the back hatch open and turn the dome lights off, would the door being open draw power from the battery? I don't want a dead battery after watching 2 movies.

The door itself shouldn't be drawing power, the security module might stay awake a while. But. I wouldn't suspect the battery dying after 2 hours of the door open with the lights off.

Actually I can guarantee you it won't because when I had the back interior torn apart to trace the 3rd window trim opening I had been working on a car at the time so I didn't get around to putting the truck back together and closing the hatch.

While my truck is in our shop we leave the back hatch open for days to air it out. Turn the domes off, no problem.
