Rear heater outlet

The rear heater outlets on the center console.

Is there an electric heater or are there coolant lines routed to it?

Which setting of the controls, feet or chest, provides most airflow through these vents?

I could be wrong without looking at the manual, but I'm pretty sure it's just a ducted line from the front. If I want more airflow back there I usually just close 2 of the 4 front dash vents. Since I rarely have back seat passengers I usually keep the rear vent closed.

Same, normally only bother with it on hot days with the dog in the back so he gets some extra air

Having cut a hole in the bottom of my center console, it's just ducts from the front back. Also on Limiteds with the auto climate control it doesn't seem to send air to the back unless you go to manual modes. I'm sure my manual outlines it but well, I never had heat in the back when I was a kid, it'll toughen up my two kids, haha.
