Rear interior panel removal

How do I get this panel apart? I'm getting a lot of squeaking noise while driving and it's coming from this area.

There's 2 screws underneath the double decker and carpet and a screw underneath the long step bar by the tailgate. You also have to remove the bolt holding the seat belt buckle

To add to it...once you get the screws out you just grab it near the jack storage area and PULL. :scared:
Open the back passenger door and pull the bottom door rubber up when you take off the seatbelt bolt.

The little hanger-hooks are funny.

If you are hearing squeaking from that area I would check two things first.

1. Make sure the latch for the rear seat isn't making the noise. Try folding the seat forward a bit and test drive it. Wrap some electrical tape around the metal loop to fix the squeak.

2. Make sure the jack and/or tools aren't banging around back there.

for the longest time i heard this chime coming from the back of my truck every once in a while. couldn't figure it out. then when i was changing a flat once i heard the sound while getting my jack out... it was the little metal clip on the strap that holds the tools in. oof!

I had a squeaking sound that sounded like it was coming from the rear suspension because I would hear it under quick acceleration from a stop and when driving over a bump. I thought for sure it was something suspension related. After reading a few posts on this forum I saw someone mention the spare tire. I crawled under the rear and pulled down on the spare. Sure enough I was able to reproduce the sound as the spare wasn't completely tightened (the spring was making the sound). So I sprayed a little WD40 on the spring then tightened the spare and not a single noise since then. :bigok:

I had a very similar noise, a creaking sound coming from the rear. I searched out here and found a post where someone greased all the seat/door catches (don't forget the rear hatch) and the sound went away. Being the cheapest and least invasive, I grabbed my trusty bottle of 3M silicone and greased 'em up. Guess what, no more noise.

Hope yours is just as easy to remedy.

I have a twist in my rear seat belt. I can’t seems to fix it without taking the top panel off. Did you have to remove the bottom panel before accessing the top panel?
