Any thoughts on getting sheared bolts out of my frame?? I snapped the bolts trying to get the driver's side swapped out...These beauties have been sitting in my garage since I tried drilling it out but those dang bolts are tearing my bit up!

My advice would be to get a good set of bits, cobalt if you want or sharpen your own, and try to get plenty of pressure on the drill. I have seen where some people use a jack to put pressure on the back of the drill. If you don't apply enough pressure to cut you will just heat up the bolt and work harden it making it more difficult.

People have their favorite lubrication, our machine shop uses Cool Tool for steel and Alumicut for aluminum.

Once you get past your previous work-hardening, with plenty of pressure and a sharp drill it should cut like butter.

The 90 degree one will be stronger in absolute terms than the gusseted one in an absolutely straight inline pull, but I think the gusseted one is strong enough in an inline pull that you won't see any bending, and it's going to be much stronger in every other direction. And I don't think it would take much sideloading to bend the 90 degree version in ways you don't want it to bend, even in half inch steel.

In terms of rocks, I don't know exactly where on the frame these are going but I assume underneath and tucked inside of the rear bumper? Draw a line between the bottom of the tires and the farthest rear point on the bumper, if they're inside that line they should be pretty well protected.

I actually want one to protect the bumper. The one on the driver's side really helps. I will have to shorten the exhaust tip a few inches to clear it, but that will also keep me from mangling the exhaust tip any further. I have a 5th gen.

Just this weekend I had to help pull out a stuck car and I realized I only had a loop on the driver side. Didn't think about why until after I was readying these post and it was noted that the stock tail pipe would block the passenger side! Oh, I forgot about that thing!

Anyway, I'm be interested in getting a pair if they are still around.
