Rear seat wobble!!!!!

Seatown

I'm piggybacking this thread from an older 2013 specific thread regarding the rear seats wobbling in their upright position. My 2014 seats with 500 miles on it shake violently with minimal effort. The looseness seems to come from the metal hoops affixed to the pillars. My last 2014 (accident) didn't have this play so it seems like it is fixable, but the other thread seemed to result in a design flaw that Toyota didn't recognize as an issue. Can all of you check your 2nd row next time your in your rig and report back? All you have to do is grab the seat back and shake back and forth to determine the play if any.

Thanks

I've got it.

I've got it too. 2015 Limited w/o 3rd row. I believe this is only an issue with vehicles w/o 3rd row. I was planning to complain about it during my next visit to the dealer. Less than 1000 km on the truck.

Just checked. Mine wobbles when shaken but no big deal as there is no noise or anything. I won't think twice about it.

My wife was in the 2nd row yesterday with my kid for about 40 minutes of city driving ... I asked and she did not feel this was an issue. My worry any wobble like this will only get worse with time due to wear. Definitely something I will keep an eye on and will mention to the dealer.

Mine wobbles and there's a squeak that seems to be coming from the mounting bracket for the middle seat/right rear passenger seat when shaken. I've been meaning to spray some silicon on the bracket but I don't really see it as much of an issue.

Just take it to the dealer and tell them to replace it or fix it. I don't mess around with that stuff whether it's cosmetic or mechanical. I identified this issue and the dealer actually reported back and said they would basically have to order some new parts. Maybe it is a safety issue? I'll have it done at my next service. Same thing for the front passenger speaker rattle, crunchy driver door armrest, pimples in the paint, misaligned door panel etc lol.

I think the ring that the seat back holds on to wiggles in its track. Mine has done this since new and this is what caused mine. Not sure there is much they can do.

Have my sub box tied down behind the rear seats, no more wobble. I'm a happy guy. Now if I couldn't only get the passenger front seat to sit still. :(
