Rear speakers where mirrors are ?

The JBL 10 speaker system has 2 speakers where the non JBL systems has 2 mirrors in the back.

Anyone ever take the mirrors off and put factory speakers in there with the factory grills ?

Did it improve the sound any ? Are there wires run back there already ?

I have those speakers and am tempted to put the mirrors in! At some point (when it is warm) I will disconnect them and see if I miss them. Considering their size and distance from the front I can't see them doing much.

Errrr NO! Those speakers su*k! I like the mirrors and if you install a sub in the rear then you back end will be full of sound. I personally do NOT want hearing loss so I just have two of those boxes with a mid, tweeter, and woofer bass in one. Jumped them into my rear speaker wiring near the floor at both center pillars and cruise with a truck full of sound. I have them where I can unplug the two and put them in my passenger's lap or in the house if I need to carry a rearend full of stuff.

I listed those mirrors as one of my favorite features. They have saved my butt (and my 4Runner) from a few hits in parking lots because you can see either direction in the aisle before backing out. And they make parallel parking a snap.
I'd think twice about removing them...especially for the size of the speakers you'd be able to put in there. :awais:
