Rear Stabilizer Links...replace?

Hello-

I am starting this weekend to replace the rear coils and shock absorbers. While doing this, I will be removing/replacing the Sway Bar links/Stabilizer Links.

Should I replace them as well? The links are like $80 each. It looks like the cushion is a bit worn. Should i just replace the cushion and the retainers (bolts)? that would only be like $10.

If your going that route, at least take a look at the overland custom design ones if your going to beat on the rig. Solves the length problem and the durability problem in one shot.

This is one application where I don't mind using aftermarket. I put on Moogs from Rock auto. They are so easily replaced in the future its no trouble to take the risk. I'm usually a die hard OEM guy but here I think Moog is OK.

Energy suspension makes replacement bushings.

I like the Moog + Energy Suspension polyurethane bushings combo but with polyurethane you need to re-grease them at least once a year or so (using ES grease).

I've been throwing in the idea of replacing mine on the rear end but it seems like they are still good. My rear sway bushings are still good but i'm sure the 23 year old rubber is cracked. I see you are in TX so re-using your factory links can be an option as rustbelt trucks can snap the nut off the end link forcing replacement.

Look on RockAuto for end links. They go as cheap as $6 for the rears if you don't go for MOOG which are $30 + shipping.

I’m also running greasable Moog + Energy poly. If I break one then I’ll upgrade to the beefy ones mentioned above.
