Rear Sway Bar Bushing/Bracket

Ok is there some sort of magic trick involved to get these things installed? I am trying to install my passenger side bushing/bracket and can't for the life of me get it to "close" enough to get the top bolt to reach. Any tips?

PS. I am lifted if that makes a difference (see sig) and I have tried unhooking the end links for movement...

Undo the lower bolt to allow reach for the top bolt.
Just don't undo the lower one completely. I believe that's what I had to do to get mine installed.

If you are lifted you really need longer sway bar links. I have a set from the rear of a 1995 4x4 Runner that I got from Oreilly for 25 bucks each.

I had that problem as well. I just loosened one side, then laid on the ground and pushed the other side up till it reached. It was a task, but worked. I'm lifted as well for reference.

I use channel locks clamping it tight in one hand while I thread the bolt and tighten it with the other hand.

Takes some determination though, lol.

Hells yea it takes some effort! Thanks for the input all at least I know I'm not the only one!. Will break out my Hulk arms this wknd. And yes I have new links on the list for my next trip to Napa.

You can also buy front sway bar links for a 96'-02' and put them in the rear. They are 1 inch longer and work perfect if you have a lift.
