rear swaybar disconnected, issues

And the big thing IMO...
It dawned on me just the other day that with all these lower ball joint failures, running without a front sway puts a significant increase of pressure on the LBJs. In my case, 35s don't help that and neither does the steel bumper and armor I have. So running a front sway on road is mandatory for me.

Hmmmm, how do you figure this? Seems to me taking corners faster would cause much higher loading on the LBJ. I could buy that with it off you get more articulation, so more severe angle on the LBJ's when you turn, but I don't think that equates to higher stress. Break out the free body diagrams for this one...

I have to agree with most, the front sway bar is the ones that has more influence on the drive ability of our 4runners. The rear is useless.

I run without both sway bars, and just remember that in the mountain twisties, mid-corner braking will kill me. lol

The truck will lean more and put more stress and weight on the LBJs with the front sway bar removed, is all I was saying. At any given speed around a corner, the stress is less with the bar on than off. There are lots of turns that I would have to slow down to ~15 with the swaybar removed and it leaned more than it does now when I take the same corner at 20 or 25 with the sway hooked up.

At some point, if you drive too fast when you have a sway bar on, the centrifugal force from the sheer speed will outweigh whatever benefits the sway bar gives you by allowing you to corner faster. But if you drive pretty mellow like me, I'm convinced having the sway bar does take stress of the LBJs.

I am reviving a mildly older thread, but I plan on removing the rear sway bar because the end links are contacting my lower control arms. It pops every time I take turns or hard bumps while turning.

I have FJ springs in the rear with Bilstein 5100's on the second notch. I'm hoping the extra equipment can keep the rear stiff without the sway bar there. Is there anyone with a similar setup that doesn't have their sway bars and would like to attest to the ride?

Also, an FYI would be that I am going to be having a baby girl in a few weeks, (Wife is 38 weeks along) - So I have been practicing driving Miss Daisy, and this will be my driving style from here on out. I've stopped with the lead foot.

HOLY CRAP!
Boy do I feel better!
My rear broke months ago and one end of it is hanging under the chassis.
I've been putting off the repair because of the price...
but now I'm wondering if I should even bother fixing it!
Should I try to remove it, or let it go?

(EDIT)

Great! The more posts I read, the more confused I am.
Now I am seeing just as many posts that suggest never driving without it!
It appears this topic has appeared in many threads,
and there is no popular answer.
