Rear view camera, with tire carrier.

Has anyone mounted a rear view camera back there with a tire carrier ? I have the savage rear bumper with tire carrier. And the license plate is relocated. I was thinking about offsetting the camera to the driver side and mounting it somehow to the rear OEM black spoiler.

I mounted mine in the middle of rear spoiler/hole for 3rd.brake light. Melted a hole in brake light lens to run wire into interior. Silicone hole on both sides.
I'm thinking of adding a second cam low and center. To be able see a trailer hitch/ball hook up.

It's a little dark at the moment. So you'll either have to use you're imagination or wait until day light returns.:spy:

I'd also like to see pics. Currently my 3rd brake light is not working due to the bulb being burnt out. So I to was thinking this.

My other issue is the screen for it. I have a single din headunit. With rocker switches taking up the other area. So I need to mount the screen somewhere.
 
Someone else was asking about this not to long ago. Maybe I should try and do write-up.
The rear view mirror was basically worthless. So I removed it and mounted the monitor in it's place. That I do have pics for.

In the picture. The screen shot on gps is the rear camera view. Except I was testing a shovel mount location on the bumper. Mount was good but the shovel kind of blocks the cam.
 
I like the way you mounted it. What kinda camera are you using ? Only different thing I would of done. Is ran it through the rear tailgate wire loom. I'm going to run my camera on a switch. Because I did a manual swap and never hooked up the reverse lights. Switch would be better anyways because I can use it anytime.

Only issue is I need to figure out how and where to mount the screen. My idea is below the ashtray in that little pocket that is useless basically.

Also how is it at night ?

Its nice and clean when its in the rear view mirror like my Tacoma.

It's a Garmin nuvi gps w/Garmin bc130 camera. The camera is Bluetooth to gps. I ran power from acc.fuse block to switch on dash back to camera
Ran power wire for gps up though headliner down a-piller to acc. Fuse block.
Switch on...rear view. Switch off...gps.

Yes the visors work fine in the tacoma but it was a dealer installed option. The mirror is not much larger than a normal mirror.

Ive been wanting to swap one into the 4runner.

Interesting. Because I replaced my stock mirror with a auto dim/compas/temperature mirror. It's larger then the stock one. I had to put it on more then once. It has to be DEAD CENTER between the sun visors. Once it is dead center. Both sun visors clear it by about 1/8". So very tight. Because if it's little of center. When you flip the sun visor down. It hits the mirror.
 
I didn't have to relocate mine cause I already have a very one-of-a-kind setup :) But I did have to add some turn markers due to visibility and afraid of getting pulled over. Now I am here...

Here it is, but currently changing it now due to a large branch, a trail, a river, a muddy slope and sliding off it.

Here is the picture with the carrier and lights. My back-up camera is on my license plate.
