Without going into troubleshooting detail, which I can if you want to spend the time diagnosing it, I would first look for an obstruction. Secondly I'd check the ground circuit to the Back Door ECU. If you get that far and don't solve it, let me know, we can figure it out.

:pop2:

Yeah, obstruction or linkage/regulator issue. Key may be separate problem. Time to open her up and see what's going on. Doubt it's ground if the defrost and wiper are working, but with grounds you never know.

I just fixed mine 2 weeks ago. Pull the panels off, and up at the base of the window more on the passenger side you will likely see the bottom plastic track of the window hitting the wiper motor. I used a breaker bar, just because it was strong enough and long enough, and pushed up on the motor until it cleared the window.

I've looked around and couldn't find any obstructions, except wire connectors not where they go. I tried rerouting some and now it doesn't go down at all. I did notice two wires that are cut or broken but cant find where they go. looking at it from inside, there going up to the right corner.

Yikes. Those red barrel connectors are a bad sign. Those are not factory and mean somebody of unknown talent was messing around in there. I don't know what I would do without being able to look at the the thing myself.

Can you even see to trace all the connections between Back Door ECU, Wiper motor, window motor, lock actuator, and the exit to the body?

If that one wire is violet with white stripe that is the MPX wire to the Body ECU in front from the Back Door ECU. It should exit through the harness to the body. Without it, no commands from the front for wiper or window will reach the back.

Is the second wire grey or black?

yeah i thought someone was messing around in there it didn't look right. its blue with 2 grey dots and a white with black stripe. it came with an aftermarket Alpine key fob alarm. I'm thinking that has something to do with it. I'm not good with electrical

That explains it. Is the alarm functional? What year is the 4Runner?
