Rear window short in rain and snow

Has anyone else had a short in thier rear window? When it rains or snows, my rear window rolls down when ever it feels like it. The window switch can bring it up, but if its actively shorting, the window wont move if i fight it with the switch.

I know I've got an opening at my plastic license plate bezel, but would also like to know where the short is, so that I can seal it.

My bezel doesn't sit flat because of rear end damage. It's better than what it was, but I am not able to close the gap.

First I suggest you check the harness between liftgate and truck body at the top of the door. It flexes constantly and over time the insulation breaks off the wires causing exactly this kind of weirdness.

I posted to someone else's thread a couple months ago on this exact problem.
Cliff Notes:
Take off the interior trim panel to access the back of the key lock. There is a short wiring harness on the back of the lock. Something inside the rotating connector (to roll window up/down) goes bad. I just removed the harness to prevent the window from randomly rolling down. Never got around to replacing it.
