Rear window, wiper and defrost wont work

Hi all

I just changed my battery and now my rear wiper and rear defrost dont work and the rear window won't roll down. Ive seen lots of suggestions that say that the system needs to be reset but all the solutions involve things like rolling the rear window down and all the way back up...which i cant do because the rear window wont roll down.

My mechanic suggested a round of unhooking the battery, leaving the key in and in the on position while it was unhooked, then rehooking the battery, cycling the window locks ....i tried it twice and no dice.

Any ideas? Maybe i need to start by just getting the rear window to roll down in the first place. This is just crazy.

I'm sure you have already tried holding window-up switch for 15 sec uninterrupted then down for 15 sec

also check the child/annoying passenger window master lockout near the master switch panel on driver's door

Roll the rear window all the way down and the back up. Its just not fully closed. Mine did the same thing last year after changing the battery.

But I can't get the window to roll up and down... it wont work either...

YOWZA!! Now THAT did it!! Thank you!! My mechanic will be thrilled im not bringing the car back in.

So for other people having the problem...check the rear window FIRST before anything else. And if the rear window isnt working...the above solution does the trick.

rear window motor reset

my rear window and wiper on my 2004 4Runner stopped working. I had just changed out battery. I needed to reset the system. I just held the dashboard switch in the up position for 15 seconds (although I'm sure this is overkill) and everything works fine now.

Replacing the battery will also knock out the auto up/down feature on the driver door window and the auto open/close on the sunroof too. Both need to be reset by openning fully and closing fully without letting switch go to properly reset. Heated mirrors won't work either until rear window is reset.

I didn't want to make a new thread so Im reviving this old thread, Rear Wipers wok and the rear defroster works( light is on).
when I try to lower my rear window it goes about an half an inch THEN stops I cant put it down,

I checked EVERYTHING the window isn't locked, light on rear defroster turns on and wipers work.
