Rear Window Won't Go Up 2003 T4R

Really weird. I went to my car tonight and the rear window was down. I did not remember putting it down as it was raining earlier. I turned my ignition key and used the button to put it up. I then took the keys out of the ignition and left. When I returned to my car the window was down again. WTF? I then put the key in the ignition and started the car and the button would not put up the window. I pulled the keys and tried the key to the back hatch lock to put it up and nothing. I have to go to the driver door and unlock the rear hatch to open the door. The door hatch works. But the window is stuck down now and I can not unlock the car from the rear hatch but I CAN lock it. I have a tarp over it. Any ideas? Am I going to be visiting toyota for a new lock or latch assembley? Thanks.:happens:

Sounds like the window regulator broke there.

Wierd that you can't unlock it but can lock it at the rear hatch. I wonder if it's some sort of anti-theft deterrent feature at work here for when the window is down. I have never checked that out on my truck, I'll have to go and try it.

Open and shut the back a few times. Just a shot in the dark but it may help. Try the rear wiper as well.

More Weird

My car is possessed. Today I got in and turn the car on. I tried the window and it went up! While driving by itself, it went down. Tried again and held the button and it stayed up for awhile then it went half way down....and then all the way down by itself. then my door locks all of a sudden while I was driving unlocked. Then the locks kept clicking constantly even after I shut the car off and pulled out the keys. I'd hit the lock button to lock it and it would unlock again and start a constant clicking sound like it was trying lock the car but the lock levers did not move. It won't lock itself but WILL unllock. I did notice that if I set my alarm (automate) that it did not overide it and stayed locked. So I parked and the car at work and went I went to go home I put the rear window up and it stayed up all the way home. I also heard no clicking sound from my door locks. So needless to say the window regular works. So is it a relay or fuse? Is there anything electrical that ties the rear window & the locks that could be causing the possession?

that's freaky... could it be a damaged remote maybe? the unlock key/window key somehow sticking.. is there any way other keys on your keyring could be hitting the buttons? i'm grasping at straws with that, but never know..

For the rear window, it's possible. I've had the key fob hit the rear window switch to lower the window. But since I was paying attention to the traffic, I never knew it until I looked in the mirror and saw that the window was down.

that's just freaky.. i'd have an exorcism done in your truck just in case.

Just for kicks I would disconnect/reconnect the battery. It's a long shot but maybe something needs to be reset. Kind of like rebooting a pc. I do know for a fact that if the rear door isn't shut all the way the rear window and rear defrost won't work, learned that one the hard way.

Update

Today the spirits are at rest. No problems. Window works fine, locks are normal. Called Toyota in Hyannis, MA. Narrowed it down to two things. Could be that the Automate security/lock/autostart system could have a controller going bad. The other is that water may have gotten down into the rear window when it was down and some wire harnesses got wet and now they are dried out. The later could be a possiblilty b/c I had windsurfed a few days before and my sails hang out the back window and I noticed my buddys sail was dripping wet. So unless I want to pay $$ for a serious diganostic "follow the wire" service @ Toyota I will wait and see. The third option is of course an exorcism. Know of any priest who specialize in 4G4R's?:satan:
