Rear wiper and defroster won't work

Here are the details. I had the battery disconnected for an hour or so while I put in a new one. Now the rear defroster and the rear wiper will not work. Everything else works just fine, just had to reprogram the radio. The auto close feature still works too. Any ideas would be a great help.

make sure that the window is closed all the way.

The computer must be sure that the rear window is fully closed before the wiper and defroster will work.

See this thread for everything you need to reset (including the back window) when you disconnect the battery.

crazy.... I disconnected the battery last week when putting in some stereo stuff and now the rear wiper wont work as well as the defroster. Ill try putting the window down and up and see if it works out.

It will. You may need to do the same to your driver window and sunroof (if you have one).

Fixed.... All I did was put the window down and up and held it to set the auto and it was all good

That's funny I too had the same issue with the rear wiper, I tries the open and close to see if that didn't work and I obviously fixed it. Funny to see everyone having the same problem at the same time.

I noticed the "AUTO" light in the driver's door window switch was blinking after cleaning my battery posts, that was a good clue to reset things. The rear window switch didn't blink, and I don't have a sunroof so don't know about that.
