Dear 4Runner owners: I had my 5th Gen 4Runner (2011) armored. Everything ok, except the rear wiper will not work. We all know that the wiper motor needs a window-all-the-way-up signal in order to function. In my case the window mechanism was dismanteled. Now, still connected, I have the window motor, with 2 main wires that feed it, and 5 little control wires, one of which must carry the signal (window-up) that activates the wiper motor.
What some armour companies do here (Venezuela), I was told, is to roll up the window, and, with a screw, inmobilize the window motor. That way the wiper motor receives a constant window-up signal, and it has got to be through one of those little 5 wires. This can be done before dismanteling the mechanism; afterwards, the Kevlar and the armored window are set in place.
Remember, in armored cars this rear window is condemned. In mine, the armored window is already in place. The installers really goofed up here.
Anyway, it shall be great to obtain the electrical diagram of this back door, or an indication as to which of the 5 wires carries the window-up signal to the wiper motor, or any other idea.
Any help shall be highly appreciated.
