So I got a new rear wiper but the two screws holding the old one on are stripping out and I can’t remove it! How do you remove the whole assembly and maybe I can get the screws out? Or is there a better way?

there is a nut behind a plastic cap where it attaches to the body, the cap rotates up if you pull up on the rounded side, careful, its delicate

you can just replace the wiper blade it slides out. To remove the whole asembly

that link is for a 4th gen. 3rd gen are different and the rubber does not simply slide out. at least not on a stock 2000 rear wiper...I know. maybe other 3rd gen years or if someone has put on an aftermarket rear blade.
and those screws can be a pain in the arse. I had to take my arm off, get a small correct fitting head ( 1/4 drive) and using adapters on my hand powered manual impact to get them out. I did debate taking my Dremel and grinding the screw heads to have flat spots so I could grab with a vice grip but my impact worked.
For those that don't know, the manual impacts are the ones you smack with a hammer...no batteries .
there is a thread someplace on this forum that talks about aftermarket rear blades and the replaceable rubber insert.

I just replaced my entire arm with a new nut and new blade. Those can be difficult to get off as my nut was half rusted off. Mostly the arm rusts enough its worthless and cant stay on the window. If you cant get the screws out. You might be better off to buy a new replacement or get one from a non rusted southern junk yard.

I can’t figure out how to replace just the rubber as I’m afraid I’ll rip the new one getting it out I’ll try the remove the whole arm thing Where do I find replacement screws though for the blade?

If the screws are completely stripped, I would use a screwdriver extractor set to remove them.

posted the wrong link my bad. The rubber piece slides off you can use a needle nose plier and slide the metal pieces out then slide the rubber piece off. When sliding the new piece in just be patient and slide it little at a time with the metal pieces in the rubber blade groves. it takes a little bit but I've done it a couple of times.
