'Recirc' lever no workee?

I JUST saw a thread on this, on this forum, even...and now that I need it, I can't find it, even after searching for it for about a half hour. Driving me nuts!

I've got the manual A/C and heat control, and all of a sudden, the 'recirculation lever' (unsure of its proper name) is very hard to flip to the 'recirc' position, and in any event, moving it to that position seems to have no effect - in other words, there's still airflow through the vents in the recirc position.

I assume this shouldn't be that tough to fix, but again, I can't find the blasted thread. Any thoughts?

Ok, follow-up. I set out to find out the exact location of this...and on a whim, while off, I decided to cycle the recirc lever.

It moves slick as you please, and you can clearly hear it moving around (under the passenger side).

Now I'm confused - not sure if there's an actual problem or not. *scratches head*
