Recommeded Exhaust System for 2000 4Runner V6

Hey, I don't know if this question has come up before but I'm looking for an exhaust system (preferably direct links for purchase or specific information) for my 2000 4Runner V6.

I'm not too concerned about any performance improvements, I mainly just want something that has a really nice sound, long lifetime, affordability, and simplicity. I've come across some chatter over Magnaflow's, Flowmaster's etc. exhaust systems but nothing too specific. I'd just like to find a nice all around exhaust system (don't we all?)

So any recommendations?

I have a flowmaster system on mine and I like the sound a lot, not sure of the exact model because my uncle put it on before I bought the rig from him.
 
Stillen uses Magnaflow

Several of us scored on a 3rd gen 4Runner Stillen exhaust system a while back.

In essence it was some stainless piping with a Magnaflow re-branded muffler. It was designed for California emissions vehicles, so my muffler was simply replaced with the new one, as the piping did not mesh with my non Calif model vehicle.

My truck just purrs now, it's not loud or obnoxious, just enough growl to sound good. You may want to contact Stillen to see if they cleared all those out. They may be able to tell you which Magnaflow they used in their setup.

If you're feeling particularly adventurous you may want to go ahead and replace the catalytic converter with a "high flow" Magnaflow or similar of 2.25" size in and out. The money you get selling off your old cat may offset your new purchases quite nicely and you'll minimize the chances some crackhead will take it from you without permission.
 
I've been very happy with my Walker Quiet-Flow SS (stainless) cat-back. It was about $120 after an online rebate this summer. Stock sound, with just a tad more growl.
 
I should have also added:
For the sound, I wanted something noticeable, but not alarm busting loud. In another sense, I just don't want the sound of stock to be present
 
Any other opinions? I would really like to get the most flow with limited noise and still pass emissions in conjunction with using the deckplate and ISR mods.

Ive got a 2 1/4 24" Dyno super turbo muffler with OE end on my 00 Limited. Nice sound w/o the "ricer" bubbling
 
i've got a flowmaster 40 series delta flow on mine. took this video last week. just cut off your old muffler and weld this one in it's place.

when yall talk about your exhaust systems you just state the muffler you have, what kind of setups are yall running? true duals? dumped? single in dual out? or just cutting out stock muffler and replacing it? sorry for all the questions its just that I am also looking to buy exhaust and trying to figure out the perfect set up.
 
TRD Catback exhaust. It might be a little out of the price range but you may find one used for cheap. Bit it sounds great and looks good.

i've gotta v6 t4r sport edition. i just cut my muffler off and welded this one on. it's a single in / single out. 1 1/4" center in / offset out.
 
Exhaust

I have a magnaflow muffler system with stainless steel tip and it sounds great. I have had other suv's and trucks with different setups and this is by far the best. I had a jeep with a dynomax muffler and it was not loud enough. I had a F150 with custom short side flowmaster exhaust and set every car alarm off with it. The magnaflow is a good sound and has the perfect tune. Combined with a CIA it is even better.

I did have a Remus system on a BMW and is also a great sound.
 
I was at 4Wheel Parts getting some stuff for my '99. I asked the sales rep what muffler setups sound good on the 3.4's. He just looked at me and shook his head as if to say "Dont even waste your time".

It's pretty tricky to get a 6 cylinder sounding right. I've heard some Ford 4.0 Ranger's sound ok. My 4.3 S-10 had a Cherry Bomb glass pack with no cat and it sounded good at low RPM's...but that's about it.

My neighbor has a newer Tacoma (I'm assuming 4.0L) and I'm pretty sure he has a 18" Magnaflow. It sounds terrible, and you know that goon has to get all over it on our 200 foot long dead end. Sounds like a coffee grinder thats spinning on a carnival ride all while Crocodile Dundee spins that noise maker on a shoe string.

...but let me know if you find something that sounds good!
