Recommendations for new wheels?

I have a 2011 LE in Blizzard Pearl that will need new tires soon. I've read all the threads about the lack of choices for 20" wheels. I've decided that I should go with 18" wheels which will give me more and cheaper tire choices.

Bonus rationalization points - the new wheels will pay for themselves after two sets of tires.

So the question now is which set of wheels to get. I want 18" wheels that look good and are not too heavy. I'd prefer to keep the cost low. I've been obsessive-compulsive about looking at tirerack.com, but there are just too many choices. Are there any particular wheels that y'all like on a blizzard pearl 4Runner?

Have you given a thought to 17's . There are even more wheel choices and the tires are 10-20% cheaper then 18's with far more sizes and choices of them too.
 
Do the Konig Countersteer X in 17" fit straight on a limited with no issues?

I'm going to do the same as the 20's on mine remind me of wheels on an old fashioned stroller they are so thin
 
I'd go SCS wheels in 17 if I was doing it again... Might still. Take a look. You won't be sorry going from 20 to 17 but 18 is still limited and not as much sidewall as tires for 17s.

Yes, been running them on my Limited for the last couple of years or so. Bonus is they are the lightest and weigh 20lbs 2oz. each, not to mention FN wheels and Dustin's excellent service.
 
looks like I need to order some then, I hate looking at new wheels as I'm worried about rubbing issues etc

how does it ride did you notice any obvious differences?

Was converted after looking at FN. Wasn't sure as they are lug centric but with the ring it is essentially hub centric and I like the weight and look! 5x on their way to my rig... now to see if anybody wants my old rims...
 
I second the Countersteer X and SCS Stealth 6. Between the weight, appearance and cost of both I don't think you can go wrong with either. Personally I'm just waiting on the email from SCS saying that the gunmetal or bronze (haven't decided on a finish yet for my mag grey Runner) are back in stock. Sounds like their shipment will be in sometime late October.

I was just in the same predicament your in. I needed new tires for my recently purchased 11' LE and hated the look of the 20's and lack of tire choices. I opted for a set of brand new OEM Gen 4 LE 18" wheels. Wrapped them in Micheline LXM/2's and could not be happier!! I got the wheels for $160 each which is dirt cheap for new, OEM Toyota wheels.

If it would stop raining, I'd snaps some picks for you since my car is the same color as yours. I bought mine based on MarkWalker's post here:

FYI, sounds like end of Oct/beginning of Nov. I just talked to Vin. He says there is a waiting list though. I like a little contrast tbh. wondering what bronze would look like on mag grey...
