Recommended Code Reader?

Can anyone recommend a decent scanner? I need to pull whatever codes I currently have, and would like to be able to do so in the future as well. I own a '95 T4R. Amazon has a ton of them, I just can't decide on which would be best. Thanks in advance.

ELM327 for 92 4Runner

Hey guys,
My first post, so I guess I have to put this on an old thread, but I bought a 92 4Runner v6 the other day, and it doesn't have anything wrong but I was wondering if it's possible to hook up a ELM327 or something similar to monitor the sensors, or if it just won't work, or won't give me any more info than the paper clip method when it dings an alert. I see they make an adaptor to hook it up but that's as much info as I could find.
Thanks,
Ken

Probably not, ELM327 is a OBD2 reader. There are Toyota OBD1 code readers, but they are $$$$$ and limited data.

Search 22 pin toyota to 16 pin obd adaptor, they're available for as low as $5. I haven't tried one...yet.
