Wow, didn’t realize how dirty the rear if the headliner gets from driving w rear window down.
Any suggestions on what to clean it with that won’t leave permanent stains?

Roll-down rear window is way overrated.
With the light color of it I don't know if it is possible without doing the whole thing. How much is a new headliner?
Good luck.

dude
just get your favorite car wash and warm water and a microfiber towel
dilute it more than you would to a slick but not sudsy solution.. change water as it gets dirty.. ring towel out frequently or have several clean ones on hand
dont scrub the shit out of the headliner.. just gentle swipes in all directions.. this is how i "wash" my interior.. just a bucket wash for the interior to remove dirt then apply whatever protectant you want
So there's some kind of backwards suction that pulls the exhaust in thru the rear window?Removed all the exhaust soot no problem.

Let me rephrase - So there's some kind of backwards suction that pulls the exhaust in thru the rear window.... even when the front windows and/or moonroof are open too?Always. That's why Toyota says to roll it up while driving.
depending on where you live, drive with the windows down enough and it'll get dirty over time. heck even windows up will do it on old cars, no cabin filter in my 3rd gen for instance.Let me rephrase - So there's some kind of backwards suction that pulls the exhaust in thru the rear window.... even when the front windows and/or moonroof are open too?
