Plus at least a dozen routine two pagers on oil and filter types from this decade. I was just curious why you picked this one.
I just called a dealer who always did my oil before purchase and toyota pil is pretty much mobil. Always used oem filters. I use bosch filter will be switching to purolator pure one though.

Good looking engine there!
I only use OEM filters as they have more media then most of the parts store ones and going to try Castol Synthetic Magnatec wI think it's called this go around. At $17.00 for a 5qt. jug it's certainly cheap enough from Wally world.

I recommend oil that is suited for vehicles and filters not used in coffee pots.
1.) don't use FRAM. A broken condom filters better.
2.) use whatever oil makes you feel all warm and tingly in your nether regions. * on an old engine with old seals a full synthetic will cause leaks*
3.) Change your oil within reason.
This is pretty much the key takeaways from all 6million oil conversations that populate the Internet.
I absolutely despise this topic, but these things need to be said.

So what your telling me is all filters manufactured by wix are all the same? Napa farms out the filters at a certain tolerence, because this is how much they want to spend, just because it is made by wix does not mean it is their top of the line filter.

The Napa Gold 1516 is a rebranded Wix 51516. That is not top of either line but they ARE the same. NAPA has their Platinum line, also made by Wix. Wix has their corresponding XP line.
