Recommended service - used 2006 over 100k

I bought a 2006 SR5, V6, 2WD at about 88,000 miles a little over a year ago. When I purchased the vehicle I had it looked at and was told that it was in great shape. Since then I have kept up with the oil changes and tire rotations, but haven't done any other maintenance. I am now over 102,000 miles and have had some trouble determining what exactly is recommended or actually needed for preventative maintenance - does anyone have any advice?

Threads I have looked at talk about different things like spark plugs, timing belt, and transmission fluid. How do I tell if these are items that need to be replaced or not?

I recently moved and do not have a trusty mechanic on hand to speak to, but I have an appointment with a local Toyota dealer in my area next week, just looking for a little guidance first.

Did yours still have the scheduled maintenance guide when you bought it? It has pretty good detail on what to do and when to do it, but not how to do it.

If not, you can download it and the other manuals you might be missing from the Toyota Owners web site. I'm not sure if you need to register or not.

I too, have an appt. with my dealership this Friday morning @ 7am for a 100k service. (1,600 mile trip coming up) However I will be paying roughly $1,300 for my ticket @ the registrar. I am getting some extra things done.

I will be getting a "14' trail edition" as a loaner for the weekend! :lookout:

Mine just hit the 110k mark. Shortly after 100k I installed new Denso spark plugs from the factory, switched it over to synthetic oil, replaced serpentine belt, replaced PCV valve. It runs like a dream. The V6's don't have a timing belt they have a chain that doesn't need replacing unless it breaks or makes noise. The V8 however needs its timing belt redone every 90k. On my list is replace a squeaky pulley, new rotors/pads(possibly calipers depending if any have frozen pistons), reboot CV axles as mine have started leaking after my lift, poly sway bar bushings all around, install my upper control arms that have been sitting in my room for a couple months, and I should be good maintenance wise. Hope some of that helps!

If the transmission has not been flushed, you might want to consider having that done too. Toyota says it's "lifetime" fluid. That's BS.

Taking it in today - should all be pretty standard. Just want to make sure this thing runs for another 200k.
