I am 57 years old, I have been buying Craftsman since I was 10, would cut grass and odd jobs, dad would bring me to Sears and Roebuck, would buy tools. So I have Craftsmen tools that are approaching 50 years old. I still have and use my first 3/8" ratchet I purchased.
So, you know which brand I am pushing. However, I do have a sprinkling of Husky, Kobalt in my box. Also some Williams
The Craftsmen quality of then was better than what you get now. Just looking at the quality of the screwdrivers. I have started to buy Cresent brand wrenches, Channel brand pliers...
My walk around the house tool bag for electrical repairs is all Klein. In terms of HD vs. Lowes, I think Kobalt has an edge on Husky. The Dewalt line of hand tools looks promising. At my refinery, the guys use 95% Snap On and 5% Armstrong for the daily work.
