Recovery boards

Anyone had good experiences with any non-Maxtrax recovery boards?

From what ive seen, you get what you pay for. I have a light build and probably take on trails and obstacles that I need more mods for. What I am primarily hoping for is using them as a ramp or step, when I have roots or edges that I just cant over.

So anyone have any recovery boards that bend really well in this purpose and dont snap?

I've got the Tred Pros. Never really gotten any significant use yet, but that's not a bad thing.

I got a pair of the ~$100 knock off brands and have used them a few times in the last 2 years. They haven't yet warped or cracked in any way but I haven't used them in freezing temps.

Some of the more expensive brands use stronger materials and/or replaceable 'cleats' in the surface, but the trick is just to no spin your tires over them with too much gas or you'll risk melting the board surface.

Anyone found a good way to mount Go Treads on the roof?? Drill them or just box em??

With MaxTrax, buy once, cry once. Some things you just shouldn't go cheap on, IMO.
