Did my 2004 4runner come with pink or red collant? Can I use red if it did?
All 4th Gens came with Toyota SLLC, aka Toyota Pink. Toyota "red" LLc is not backwards compatible with SLLC
weird.
when I did my timing belt last year(the year before?) I went to the dealer for my coolant, they told me it took the red, so that's what's in there...
Your '06? That's the wrong one. SLLC is a no silicate formula among other things, LLC is a low silicate formula designed for older vehicles before about '03-'05 (think 1MZ, 5VZ, ect.) You can use SLLC in a car that calls for LLC, but not the other way around. I'd flush it out around 30k or so with SLLC and make sure you drain everything out to get as much of the old LLC out and then switch back to SLLC (remember after the first 10yr/100k interval Toyota calls for a 5yr/50k one with SLLC.)
An additional note is that LLC is non-diluted while SLLC comes premixed in 50/50 and 60/40 offerings.

Per the bulletin, follow the service intervals in your manual regardless of flavor. LLC will have a shorter change interval than SLLC.
Pretty sure my '03 2UZ actually came with LLC, but I switched to the pre-mixed SLLC when I did my first coolant change. Dealer also appeared to use SLLC with the timing belt/WP replacement. I'm probably getting close to due again.

The main difference between the two is that SLLC is a Non-Silicate among other ingredients (or lack there of). There's a newer I believe that details the backwards compatibility of SLLC in LLC, but not vice versa. Toyota has been a bit wishy washy on stuff like that in the older days (look at WS ATF for example.)

Without doing extensive research, like a moron i topped off my pink coolant with about half a quart of asian zerex red into the reservoir tank. Under normal circumstances i would get a flush right away but i just dropped almost $200 last saturday on pads and rotors and im tight on money.
I guess my question is, is the new mix of coolant corroding my engine as we speak? Or can i get a flush next month when i get my paycheck? The jug of zerex does say silicate and borate free so i dont know how much that plays in my favor. I topped off 2 days ago. Thanks in advance to whoever can help with this. Btw my car is a 2004 v6.sr5 95,000 miles

As of this morning, that page stills shows SLLC and LLC as compatible.
Could you possibly have seen a warning about GM's Dexcool (aka DeathCool)? It was also available in a pink formula and there were stories of it gelling when mixed with certain coolant formulations.
For general reader knowledge based on some statements/questions in this thread. Coolant color is meaningless when comparing across different brands. It's the chemical makeup that matters, the color is just a dye.
