See Brian's response below -- probably a more valid opinion, since they are still very new to me. That said, I've wheeled Anza Borrego, Ocotillo Wells, Corral Canyon, and Anderson Truck Trail with them, and have been very happy so far. I haven't done anything really difficult yet, but I also haven't gotten stuck. They hook up great, float well in soft stuff, and are quiet on the highway.
Brian, I did trim and pound. I had a nasty rub on the reservoir hose that was the biggest concern. I would like to see your setup in person sometime, to compare notes. Tires and the relocated resis went well at Ocotillo Wells this weekend.
Short clip and a couple pix (mostly for folks who haven't seen the split mountain area of anza borrego)...nothing too exciting, but getting to places like the wind caves is why I have the truck:

Brakes squealing like crazy
My brakes have been squealing very badly when cold (especially in reverse). Not sure what the problem is, but I've read that many have experienced the same issue with Wagner Thermoquiet pads (which is what I installed when I did the Tundra upgrade).
So, I'm gonna change pads this weekend, and see how it goes. Bought Akebono ProAct ultra premium, as they were highly recommended and made in the USA. Fingers crossed.

Hill Climb and Jeep Recovery
Well, we took our rigs back out to Anza Borrego this weekend. Did a ton of wheeling. Almost hit a deer at Cuyumaca Lake, pulled a broken jeep up a hill, ran around north side of Ocotillo Wells, and hit up Blair Valley & Canyon Sin Nombre also. Great weekend.

Did you have issues with the Thermoquiets making clicking and clacking noises when you would stop at low speeds? Mine do that and it's driving me insane. I haven't had loud squealing like you have, though. Hopefully Advance will take them back under the lifetime warranty. They suck.

No clicking or anything like that. I kinda got lazy, and I haven't swapped pads yet. Squeaking still. They do stop well, and the noise is great if you want to wake up camp at 6am. :sorry:

New pads, no more squeaky brakes
I put the new Akebono pads on today. No more squeaky brakes. I think the problem is that the wagners don't have anti-squeal shims. I had put some brake goo on the backs of them, but it just attracted grit and grime all over the piston boots. Cleaned those up also, so that grit doesn't wear a hole in the boots.
I also put on black lug nuts today. Looks way tougher with the flat black wheels and black lugs.
Note on tires: I ran at 15lbs last weekend in soft sand. Aired down that low, there is no getting stuck. I buried myself to the skid pulling a guy out of a ditch. At that point I was buried worse than him, but I just backed right out of the hole. I'm becoming a big fan of the general AT2.

That's a fun area. The mud caves are the wash up from Diablo, Arroyo Tapiado. There is also mortero wash a little ways away with all sorts of cool stuff there.
Have you ever checked out the agua caliente campground? I like desert camping better but they have some hot springs filtered and piped into hot tubs. Feels good after a long day out in the desert.

We are heading out to Ocotillo Wells with the RZR crew for Thanksgiving. Heading to Grand Canyon for Xmas/New Years. But, yes, we will get those SCs installed, and I'm sure we'll find some time to wheel. My wife and I try to go camping/wheeling at least once a month.

I love my compressor. The tank is an absolute must (obviously). It's still a bit small to fill tires quickly, but it does the trick. Works great with the ARB locker, and also runs air tools nicely.
BTW - Installed 7th injector and URD 2.2" pulley today. We were a little lazy, and didn't install the upgraded fuel pump yet. Ran around with a nice scanner onboard for about 20 minutes -- no problems. Planning to do the fuel pump on Wednesday, but maybe after the desert trip next week...dunno.
Next up is ditch lights, and rewiring accessories with Blue Sea fuse box.

Yep. I loved those tires. In a way, I wish I'd have kept them. So quiet and smooth. But, in the end, they were too small for the kinds of driving I've been doing in the desert...

So, I've been taking a break from the truck lately to focus on work and other things.
Getting back into it though, and I'll be getting dyno tune and fuel map on Monday (also installing the upgraded fuel pump this weekend).
Overall, I'm super-pleased with the power of the SC, but I've been kinda down on the obvious need for a tune. Hopefully this will take care of the issues I'm seeing at higher RPMs. I'm also not a fan of the noise the SC makes... That said, some of the features my truck used to struggle with in the desert are no longer any problem.
I also took off the rear gate, so I have some more flexibility with my tailgate and hitch. Probably not a good idea for desert trips, so I'll either need to learn to live with it, or figure something else out for full-size spare...there's always the roof I guess.
