relocated wiper fluid container

Decided with lack of a front bumper covering where the windshield wiper fluid container is located that it was time to move it. searching near and far and only finding a few really complicated forums covering it, I'm going to pass on what I learned this weekend. I drilled holes in the bottom of the new container to match the old ones, reused the same rubber grommets, had to cut the shrink wrap to separate the wire bundles and wrap the fog light/wiper wires back up. I purchased the new container at a local parts store its only 1.5 qts not the gallon that Toyota had. Plenty of room for a bigger one but i'm in sunny AZ and didn't see a need for it. super easy fix. now for the 4x4 square access hole to get to the body mount, I cut new metal to cover it up to prevent mud from getting in it.

To be fair some of us don't need to, I bought my ShrockWorks because I prefer the slightly beefier looking SW bumper as opposed to Demello's more Skeletal style bumper (not that I don't like it, but I prefer the beefier looking one on my personal 4Runner.)

None the less, this is a great mod for those members who can't properly protect their windshield washer bottle.

Shockworks bumper is great if you like to spend 1400 on a bumper. But for me who is trimming my fenders and removed my fender liners and prefer to fab up my own front bumper it's not so great its kinda stupid specially to spend that much. But that's the best part about making your 4runner your own.

I've been thinking about moving mine too. I built a new bumper and the reservoir is hanging in the wind!

Nice set up from RockSteady MotorSports. A bit pricey but looks like it's made to last for years with no real modification. Only holds half gallon of fluid compared to stock one but i'm sure that's still enough.

Got me thinking about it now, haha. :biggrin1:

What's the capacity of that? About 1/4 of a jug of washer fluid? I was thinking about going that route but would love to get something with more capacity. I used a Dorman coolant reservoir but its starting to leak around the pump seal (cold weather crack). I think it's about the same capacity as yours.

That's the one I used too. I never used my rear spray so it was an easy install.

Has anyone actually destroyed one? The concern seems like a valid one, but I have yet to hear about anyone actually experiencing it. Could be I've just missed all those posts?

I would say 2 quarts or 1/2 gallon.

Most useful once you go above 33s. Keeping it with 35s isn't a really good option (at least with stock length lowers)
