Relocating console headphone / aux jack??

I'm not at home right now, so I can't get you a picture until friday. If you want to wander through the Ontario airport parking lot 5 you could look in the window though.
I any case, I've installed the usb/aux input for my stereo below the hazards. I also have a blue sea usb charger there. I also bolted the base for my ram mount on below those.

So I installed a bluetooth module in line with my aux jack.
Word of caution, the OEM headunit will NOT switch to aux unless it senses something is plugged in. So what I tried to do was cut the wires before they plugged into the back of the aux jack and splice in an aux for my bluetooth, BIG mistake. Had to resolder those because I couldn't figure out which wires were closing the circuit when an input gets plugged in.
Here's what I did: I removed the OEM aux port entirely from it's housing. The aux port sits in a small plastic housing that clips into the center console. So I removed it. I then plugged a 2x female -> 1x male 3.5mm splitter. The male plug went into the OEM jack hole and then I simply plugged my bluetooth into one of the females and ran the other female back into the little aux port housing. Super glued it in place and it works perfectly
Basically you wouldn't have to split anything like I did as long as you are just completely re-reouting the aux. Just remove the aux from the console (gotta use a little bit 'o force) and then cut and extend the four (or five...I can't remmeber) wires to wherever you need. Basic job, should take an hour or two tops?
