Relocating switches & lights

I would like to relocated my DAC switch next to the diff. lock switch. How hard it this to do ? I would like to put a VSC on/off switch in the 4th position , if I can find a way or correctly doing it without to much trouble. I dont like the DAC switch in the center area , get bumped and turned on accidently. Not a problem for me to turn it off but freaked out the wife a little. Hopefully with these I'll be able to have all 4 banks filled there and in easy reach and out the way with a clean look.

I also want to add a Tacoma light switch in that area to power some off road light's , which I plan to hang on a Westin Safari bar.

Will the Tacoma switch that fits in that hole be good enough to power some Piaa's or Hella Black Magics ?
Any other recommendations on light for the front bar ? I want round lights , but I think the Piaa's are over priced or am I wrong and they are worth the money ?

You might need to wire up a relay for the Tacoma switch. For lights, LightForce comes to mind. No first hand experience with aftermarket auxilary lights.

A relay is always a good idea.

No experience with aftermarket lights, but another bump for a relay. Never run the load of lights through a toggle switch, especially high power offroad lights that draw alot of amps. A relay is made to take the heavy load, and the little 12V signal draw to activate it is a very safe load for even the lightest of switches.

And always use an in-line fuse as close to the original source of the hot lead as possible. :

I think moving the DAC switch it the front panel should be pretty straight forward. I think its just re- routing the wire from the center to the front.

Agreed about the inline fuse , nice cheap insurance.

I think it should be super easy, just as simple as cutting and extending the wires and running them to the dash opening.

I just got done popping out the blanks in my dash looking at the size of the opening Vs the sunroof switch that came with my new sunroof. You can pop the blanks out by removing the fuse block cover, and reaching a finger up behind the dash face and pop the bottom tab loose and the blank will fall out really easily.

Then just run your extended wires with the connector up there, connect and pop it in!

I would suggest soldering and heat shrinking the connections at both ends. The connection makes a huge difference as time goes on. I solder everything, I detest crimp connections.

Since the DAC switch runs all the way into the center counsel it should be plenty long enough to just re-route the wires . I would just need to pull my center counsel apart and probably the dash bottom to get in there.

It s really something thats rarely get used so I would just assume move it to the front instead of bumping it all the time and having the light blinking.

I have been wanting to move that dac button myself, the location could not be in a worse place IMO. Let me know what it takes to move it. When I first eyeballed the dac button it looked like there might be some fit issues moving it to the front panel. The dac switch button looks like it had a rib down the side that will cause fit issues on the front panel. (I could be wrong) I already moved my center dif and RSCA buttons next to each other (both towards the steering wheel and put together instead of spaced apart).

Why would you have to do any of that, its moving a switch with wires connected to the switch just like it is in the center. There should be no messing with wiring except moving the harness for it and the switch.
