Remanufactured Created Engine

Looking for a source for quality created engines. I am not looking to upgrade to a 3.4.

Exhaust started bellowing white smoke, able to get the T4r to shop. Diagnosed blown head gasket, they do not rebuild or swap. Faced with dilemma, have them repair; quoted a price that amounted to what I believe it would cost to swap for a 'long block' replacement?

Any suggestions, or recommendations would be appreciated!!

In my search for replacement engine distributor's I did came across Kar King and found their customer reviews were highly favorable. The issue I have with any supplier is the 'warranty' policy; IMO, at the very least they should offer minimum of 2 years, or 24k, particularly if a shop installs.

Appreciate the input!!

If you find one that gives a warranty that long, let us know, it would be unusual.
Oregon Engine Builders has a good reputation, but I've never delta with them.

Back in my Napa days (I managed a company owned store) we had rebuilt engines available with a standard or an extended warranty. And that was enhanced (or managed better) by having a Napa AutoCare shop do the work.
No idea if you have any good ones around you. I may have worked for Napa, but I'll never believe every AutoCare is perfect.
ATK is the builder. They come with a 3 year warranty, plus you can pay some more for coverage for towing, labor, and fluids during that 3 year time. It's a long block.
Engine warranty verbage:
Warranty
Warrantied to be free of defects in workmanship/materials for up THREE (3) years. Please review the specific criteria pertaining to this warranty in the NAPA PDF warranty statement. This warranty is not transferable.

The shop I am working with is 'Ernies' local NAPA auto parts and service center. High customer reviews, pleased with my experience with this particular NAPA shop in the past. Currently waiting for a quote on a a crated or replacement engine. Before discussing the option of a replacement, they offer a 2 year 24k warranty if they were to repair the engine.

Am familiar with S & J, and S & S engine rebuild out of the state of Washington, both offer 7 years and 70k to 100k warranty. I purchase early model small block Ford engines from each, 8 years ago. I do not have any experience with their Toyota rebuilt engines; having said that, I was very pleased with the shops customer support and the quality of their long block rebuilt Ford engine.

Thank you for the input.
