Remote Starter Problems

So I'll try to keep this short and Simple.

Got a Viper 5901 2 way remote starter + security. + DEI 556u Transponder. Installed it, Everything works fantastic. Except one thing.

When I remote start the car, with the system armed (doors locked) The factory alarm goes off, I can tell cause it's the horn and headlights that flash. I pulled the fac alarm fuse in the dash and it still does it. If I unarm the system, Start it, then arm it, it doesent go off.

I really don't want to have to do that everytime, I'm never anywhere near close to the car when it starts, so I don't want someone walking by and hearing the doors unlock and such.

Anyone else have this problem? Did I wire something wrong? Thanks for your help!

I have the exact same issue, with a similar setup. Try this: sit in your car, arm/lock it. hold your key up to the ignition, without putting the key in. Now press the remote start button.

When I do this, everything works perfectly. I literally just ordered the 556-U thinking this would solve my problem. I was really hoping that this would solve the problem. Maybe your 556-U isnt installed correctly? If your alarm doesnt go off with the above experiment, then i would say your 556-U isnt installed correctly, as the 556U basically replicates having the transponder key in the ignition.

One more thing: check the keysense wiring. Its basically a sensor to see that there is a key in the ignition. Try this: place a small allen wrench or pin in the ignition to fool the sensor. you can find where the sensor is by having the door open when you insert your fake key. When the car chimes thats when you hit the sensor and the car thinks you have a key in the ignition. Now, if your car starts up fine with no alarm even while locked/armed, then you know its a 'key sense' issue. You should then check the wiring from the 556-u to the keysense wires
