Remounting an OEM bumper?

I put on an aftermarket front bumper on my 4runner, but decided I wanted to go back to the oem short style, kinda like the SRQ fab build. I cut off the end rails to mount the bumper, so is there a way that I can go back to an oem bumper without access to a welder?

I have heard here and there about how the 96' to 97' (maybe?) 4runners didn't have the end rail caps.

If anyone has done this, or can link a thread that has more info on this I would appreciate it!

Thanks

The factory bumper (outer chrome/plastic stuff) on the early bumpers doesn't attach to the end of the frame. It bolts on using the two welded nuts next to the body mount and small rubber isolated brackets to the fender at the 'corners'.

You should be able to bolt up an early bumper, no problem - you just wouldn't easily be able to bolt up the '99+ crash bar.

Thanks for the info. Have you done this swap before? Or do you maybe have pics of how stuff mounts together?

Again thanks for the info you gave already

I haven't done the swap... From my truck when installing the aftermarket bumper, you can see here the two bolt locations for the early bumper mounts (two bolts right next to the body mount):

From my parts truck, you can see the early style frame horns (one with, one without the little cap) and the bent up factory mounts still bolted on (truck was in a rollover):

There are probably write-ups on here with better pics...

Sweet seems pretty simple. Thanks
