Hey guys, sorry for a post like this, but I'm short on time. Just drove from cali to texas and took some hits on the front emblem and need to touch it up. Can't remember for the life of me how to remove it. Can you call me lazy and stupid but please post pics or link on how to do it so I can do this quickly. Thanks.

Thanks guys. This is the part I can't remember tPugh. Do I need to remove the black oval part to access these clips on the emblem. Cause I can't see them as is.

there's no screws to be removed. You just need something to pop it out with un the upper left or right. I used a plastic trim removal tool.

The third post on this thread had the link that I used. check out this specific post:

So I should be able to access these tabs on the emblem without removing anything else? That's what I'm finding confusing cause I can't see these tabs. Seems like stuff is in the way

Sorry about the thread-jack.

I have a 2014 Limited and ordered a devil horns emblem (Custom Emblems) for it. I took the radiator cover off and didn't see the four tabs shown in the linked thread or this one. The search on this site came up empty and I was hoping one of you folks could help me out. :redbrick:

I had to remove the grill assembly completely just like you would for a TRD pro grill install. Once off, you'll see the back where you can install the hex screws.

Have a 2016 Limited and am having the same issue. Is it possible the 2014-2016 Limited have a different mount for the emblem?

I pulled the radiator cover off and couldn't figure out how to mount mine either. I pulled all of the pins and unbolted the support. The parts diagram indicates there are something like ten little plastic clamps in addition that hold the upper grill assembly. I'm afraid to pull the entire upper grill assembly and break those clips.

The black emblem surround looks to be a separate piece. It looks like it is held in with a single screw and a push pin that has a head behind the emblem. Access to the screw is blocked by the trim though and I stripped the head on mine trying to angle a screw driver in.

Assuming I can get the black surround piece detached from the rest of the grill, it still looks like I'd need to drill holes or fabricate something to use the 4 hole mounting of the Diaz Devil Horns. I think I can manage that, if I can just figure out how to get the old emblem off without messing up my grill.

The black surround piece that holds the emblem comes off but only if you undo the clips on the sides and top. Remove the front grill entirely by undoing the 10mm bolt and 2 clips. Pull grill out and away from body. It does take force. Watch that video how it's done. Once you have it off, it will make sense how to get metal emblem. You should not have to modify anything but it does require some work.

FWIW, I was able to get the black oval backing off without removing the grille. Pop the hood, on top of the radiator area there's a plastic piece going across the top of the grills. It's held on with a bunch of pop-fasteners. Use a small screwdriver and pop those out to remove the plastic covering. Then reach behind the emblem, there's 3 or 4 tricky little clips that require a small screw driver to pop out. Don't have a picture on hand, but undo those clips and the oval piece, with emblem attached, will slide ride out. There was also a Phillips screw there, don't remember if that had to be unscrewed or not.

protip: you don't need a screwdriver for those pop clips on the radiator cover, you just push them in the middle to pop them then lift them out. to reinstall you just press the point on a firm surface to push the center out then insert and push the middle to the flush position to re-lock them

I wasn't able to get access to take out that Philips screw without some serious headache. I created a full write-up. There is probably a better way to do it than the way I did. The clips were easy to access, the screw was not. I couldn't get at it with any of the tools I had because a lip of the painted trim blocked getting in there with any of the tools I had.

Here is my write-up:
