Removed front mud flaps and still RUBBING...Help

Hi guys...I just installed my 3/2 lift with 285x70x17 Nitto Grapplers. Truck looks great! Moved fender liner forward several inches, removed mud flaps and trimmed parts of the bumper. For some reason, I am still getting some rubbing on the driver's side where the mud flaps were removed from. I am getting the wheel alignment done tomorrow, but I don't know if that will help at all

What else can I do?

:worthless of where it's rubbing! You will prob need more trimming or go to a smaller size tire, 265 75 17. 285s are for guys with bigger lifts. The tire shop should not have sold you 285s as there is rubbing and no room. Go back and get narrower tires, most shops have satisfaction guarantee policies.

wow. that looks really stuffed, i have no doubt that you're rubbing. I have no help to this but still, very stuffed. I would have bought smaller tires.

I'm a 3rd Gen guy so by no means an authority here. But are you sure you got the spacers right? Looks like you got the 3's in the rear and the 2's in the front. Just going by the pictures. I thought these 4th Gens sat much more level with these 3/2 lifts.

Not possible unless you switched the whole setup.

Even with some more trimming, it looks like you'll rub while flexing.

I will post some pictures tomorrow displaying the rubbing. The tires look more stuffed in the pictures than they do in person. I thought I did everything correct regarding my setup after doing all of my research on the forums, but I guess every truck is different. the rubbing is certainly annoying.

how many miles do your springs have on them? Could possibly be they are sagging quite a bit.

The truck was not on level ground when the picture was taken, but everything does seem level.

About 110,000 miles.

its a possibility that it could be sagging from age/wear. Mine has 96k and mines a 2.5 daystar kit and from the looks, looks like im higher. What is your front fender measurements? Maybe that will help determine if the springs are sagging or not.

Have the alignment shop set caster as high as possible and it should help with the rubbing (if they can get enough adjustment). If not, you can trim and should be able to get rid of the rubbing. I believe this thread describes the rub you're talking about:

IMO if you want o fit that size tire you needed a true 3" suspension lift. I think adding spacers on old springs doesn't cut it. Like ARK said have them max the caster and cross your fingers.

I think you have the wrong backspacing/offset on your aftermarket wheels.

:iagree: hard to tell from the photo but i believe it looks like the tires/wheels stick a bit too far out from the fenders.

So...I did some extra trimming and got the wheel alignment done. So far so good. Here is the picture of where the rubbing is occurring.

Hopefully the wheel alignment will take care of it, but you may still have issues depending on the offset of the wheels. Also, looks like you're rubbing on the body mount too. You'll want to keep an eye on this and may need to do the body mount chop as well.
