Removed Rear Mudflaps - Solution for Mud/Snow in Rear Qtr.?

I lifted my truck and removed the mudflaps so there would be no rubbing of my larger tires. Now there is a huge gap that will allow crap to collect inside the lower rear quarter. Anyone have any solutions?

Thinking cheap skinny mudflaps...

trim the old flaps flush to the bumper. i did that with mine and it closed up the opening

i have a 2.5" OME lift and 255 75 17 on fj rims 15mm offset vs stock 30mm. i dont really rub with the setup and mudflaps still on...a little bit at full lock but i dont do that often or on the trails even/yet.

is the consensus to leave them on if possible or similar to ridding the side steps and ditch them/show off tread??? i know a lot of ppl ditch them because of rubbing, but if not for that, are people running them if they can with lifts and larger tires?

I used a sander to thin mine a little, and then used a heat gun and re-shapped them so that the bottom edge is further back.
