Removed the Rear Sliding Tray-5TH Gen Limited

I own a Trail edition and can confirm that it is not flat if you don't have the tray. I wish I had that or could make something for the cargo area. I don't have a photo but it is about a 3 inch drop from the back of the seats to the cargo area without the tray. There is a piece that sits right behind the seats I guess to hold the seats when they are reclined. That piece sits at a slant and is about 3 inches wide which is the 3 inch drop between the seats and the cargo area. It sucks to pack for camping with it not being flat.

Good to know. I'm a pretty small packers (do most of my meals from dehydrated meals) so space wise I don't really care about. Would really just be for sleeping. Granted I can see that being an issue if I were to change things up later.

Hi 4runninAmerica ... I have a month old 4Runner also and it came with the tray ...I would do the swap but unfortunately im in southwest Florida...

I just ordered the driver's side 3rd row seat (could not find a passenger side) and I have a 2018 off road premium with the tray.

Trying to figure out if I can just take the tray out and bolt up the seat? I know I'll have to add seat belts and what not but will the seat bolt right up without much hassle?

I will be removing the cargo tray as well. I assume it has the carpeting like one without the tray?

So is there actually more storage under this tray (a lower cargo floor), or is it just a gimmicky way of saying “the remaining space between the sliding tray and the normal bottom of any other 4Runner cargo hold”

This has been my most used and favorite mod to the truck. Bomb proof and used almost daily.

Are these pics still available somewhere? Would love to see the end result. Currently removing my slide-out tray and looking for ideas. Thanks!
