removing 6 cd changer

I have a question. How do you remove the 6 cd changer that is in the console between the driver and passenger's seat? Is it straight forward? I will be doing this today as I just received my IPOD2CAR attachment. Thanks!

I've never done it myself, but I would imagine you'd have to take the dash apart, pull out the radio, disconnect the multi-pin connector, pull it thru from underneath the dash. Likewise disconnect the other end of the cord from the CD changer. Then unscrew the mounting screws in the console and lift the changer out.

Figure you gotta take the dash out anyway to connect the ipod connector anyway, right?

BTW, what are your plans for the changer? If the price is right, I'd consider buying it off you.

i took the bad boy apart yesterday and guess what, ipod2car did not work. It charges fine, meaning some of the connectors work, but thats about it. So I am back to the cd changer. I did remove the fm modulated xm radio, so it was not all in vein. XM is pissing me off. First, they play the same songs over and over. Second, they are raising their fees to 13 a month.

Need to find a way to add a simple aux interface for my nav unit so that i can plug in my ipod into. Someone on some sienna board said there is a splitter or something that does it nicely and can be piurchased from Toyota. Need to look it up.
