Removing center glove/storage compartment

Does anyone know how to remove the glove/storage compartment between the front seats? Mainly I want to see if there is a way to reuse the 3.5mm audio socket for an after market stereo and possibly of adding an USB port there. Thanks!

My 2003 had 2 10mm bolts inside the consol, Then most of the other parts snapped off. There are 2 more bolts by the shifter.

Just be cautious when pulling things apart. I had mine apart several times doing different stuff. It is very easy

There are a total of 6 - 10mm bolts holding the center console to the floor of the vehicle. Two are at the bottom of the main storage compartment; 2 are on either side of the shifter yoke (under the feaux leather look shifter cover) and the final two up at the front of the console, just underneath the fold out compartment. You will also have to disconnect a couple of wiring harness' (one for the lighting and the second for the cigarette lighter socket). There is a very good write up on this:

Thanks but I've found this link and replaced the stereo unit. My question was how to remove the storage compartment so I can run USB and 3.5mm Audio input.

Once you follow that guide to get the shifter trim piece up, it's just a couple of screws to get the storage compartment up, took me like 2 minutes once I had that piece out of the way :mullet:
